Porch Planters

Creating a Parade Ready Porch!

So this is a little late, Mardi Gras has already passed. The beads are hanging from the trees on St. Charles like ghosts of a party past and it is almost as if it never even happened at this point. But better late than never, we wanted to share a fun project we were lucky to be a part of!

We recently teamed up with interior designer, Jacquelyn, of JL Studio Designs to outfit her beautiful Magazine street porch for the uptown parades and fun of Mardi Gras!

To start, we met at TPG’s garden center and shopped for the perfect pots and plants to accommodate the tall and bold facade of her home. A few measurements and options later, we had an idea of the perfect planters!

Delivery day was fun. We put 3 planters and topiaries in the front and 2 planters and plants on the side. Jacquelyn chose purple loropetalums for the side door as purple is for Mardi Gras (!) and the dark drama of the plants suited the house well.

Jacquelyn also decorated her front palm trees and balcony with beads for Mardi Gras. The effect of the Mardi Gras decorations was amazing and super festive!

Of course, the finishing touches were Mardi Gras beads on the topiaries! Add a festive party, a Mardi Gras costume, some cold drinks and voila! Jacquelyn’s house was the most elegant and beautiful Mardi Gras house on the block! Thank you Jacquelyn for such a fun project and the amazing photos of the finished project.
